Guided Historic Walking Tour of Stanley and Lower Stanley

A Guided Historic Walking Tour is being organized by the Idaho Conservation League for Saturday, May 21st. Gary Gadwa of the Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association will be the guide for this event, bringing people from Redfish Lake into Stanley and Lower Stanley. This tour will be open to the general public. The Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association will not charge for this tour, but will accept donations for their member-based interpretive association. Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run

A new tradition is coming to Redfish Lake this Memorial Weekend.  If you enjoy fitness, pure mountain air, and spectacular scenery, you will certainly enjoy this one – the one-half marathon will begin at Community School in Stanley, loop the campgrounds, and finish at the Lodge.  There will also be a 10k and 5k run for those who enjoy a lighter tempo.  For further information visit the Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run page.

Sawtooth Relay

Entry deadline is Wednesday, April 13, for the 20th annual Sawtooth Relay, a 62-mile relay for six-person teams from Stanley to Ketchum.  This year’s event for a maximum of 310 teams is Saturday, June 11.  Entry forms are available at www.sawtoothrelay.com or call Sawtooth Relay director Terry Hoebelheinrich at (208) 853-1221.  Proceeds go to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.

Come Fly a Kite!

On Father’s Day, Sunday June 19th we will be holding Stanley’s 3rd Annual A.J. Silva Cup Kite Festival up at Stanley Pioneer Park starting at 11:00am. There will be kite contests, prizes, food, and drinks. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and assorted beverages will be provided. This annual event is located on the grassy area across from the Community Center on Highway 21, Stanley.  If you enjoy food, crafts and music, you will not want to miss this event, which is free to the public.

The Second Annual “Throwdown in Dogtown”

Yes, you heard right – Throwdown in Dogtown is back for its second year at the ROD-N-GUN Whitewater Saloon on Saturday, July 23, 2011. The doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets will be $8.00 at the door.

The music line-up will be: Dave Muscavage & Chris McDonald, Custer County Line, and the evening’s headliner Hellbound Glory, from Reno, Nevada.
